🧵Watch Scallops Take Shape - Limited Time! ✂️

Many options for marking & cutting curves. Explore our shop!

May 14, 2026

Hi All,

May is rolling right along—sunshine, green leaves, colorful flowers... so pretty and pleasant outside... when the wind's not blowing! 😊

Meanwhile, I'm looking at my sewing room and realizing it's time to move a few of those "nearly finished" projects across the finish line.

I've decided to add a scallop edge to my Christmas sampler quilt—and there are so many ways to do it!

Over the years, I've often used Eleanor Burns' Scallops, Vines & Waves Template. It's a great tool and works beautifully.

But... I also have the Quick Curve Ruler from Sew Kind of Wonderful in my toolbox—and with all the wonderful patterns those talented sisters keep creating, I've decided to use that for my scallop edge this time.

✨ Want to see it in action?

Come visit me this Saturday from 1:00–3:30. I'll be in the store working on my quilt.

Have you ever wanted to see this technique up close and personal? This is your chance!

We really do mean it when we say: "We teach from the cutting table."

(And if you're curious about other curve tools, check out this link → CURVED RULERS & TEMPLATES

You'll also see in my project that I have my flange binding ready to go (upper right corner of above photo).

And yes... it's rolled neatly on my Binder Winder—which means it will feed smoothly onto the quilt without twisting, tangling, or wrapping itself around my legs (a personal pet peeve!).

A little reminder from me to you:

Sewing is good for you.

Playing with fabric, solving the puzzle of a pattern, creating something with your hands—it's all good for the brain and the nervous system.

I had a bit of a surprise at my recent mammogram and was fortunate that it only required a minor procedure—a simple lumpectomy.

So please... take care of yourselves and don't skip those mammograms.

I know many of you are carrying your own challenges—or those of someone you love.

I've always thought of this store as a safe place.
A place to set things down for a while.

Come take a little "time off."
Focus on something you can control... something creative... something that really can't go too badly. 😊

Come pet the fabric.
Fondle the books.
Study the patterns.

📺 Facebook Live this Friday at 1 PM!

Kirsten and I will be back—with BARGAIN FABRIC—so be sure to tune in!

Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week and weekend.

And maybe I'll see you Saturday afternoon—come check on my scallop border progress!

Hope to see you soon,
Charlotte
