Classes & Events

Quilt-making is an ancient practice—rooted in warmth, tradition, and creative self-expression. An entire culture has grown around it, and we invite you to experience it with us here at Charlotte's Sew Natural, where every day we teach from the cutting table!

We also schedule classes and events here at our brick-and-mortar store on historic Main Street in Newton, KS. Each gathering is designed to inspire, connect, and build skills.

Second Saturday Sampler Class

2nd Saturday of every month

Each month we focus on a different quilt block. Instructions are provided and block kits are available. The program begins each January, but it's easy to jump in at any time during the year.

Through December 2026 we are using the pattern, Moda is Still My Favorite Color.

Feel free to purchase the pattern and attend a session if you are available. These classes are open to anyone. Meetings are at 9 am and 11 am the 2nd Saturday of every month.

We do have a few, limited block kits available. Ask for details on that.

Meanwhile, we'll be announcing our 2027 plan by December, so stay connected and listen for 2027 registration details.

Sewing Club

2nd THURSDAYS

An ongoing monthly gathering for people who love to sew. Each session features a technique, tool, or product, plus show-and-share from members. Friendly, informative, and always inspiring.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?

Many of our classes are Lecture/Demo, and you do not need to bring any supplies with you to class.

If a class requries a sewing machine, we have six machines for class use, and request that you use one of those rather than hauling in your own. Saves everyone time and trouble! :)

What if I can't make it to class? Do I get a refund?

If you are simply a "no show", then no refund. If you realize you have a conflict ahead of time, we will apply a credit towards another class. We know "life" happens and we will try to keep everyone happy.

Can I get private instruction?

If you have an idea for a class, we would love to hear it. If you have a couple of friends who want to take the same class, let's talk and try to get our schedules to line up!

We also "teach from the cutting table". Which means we welcome you to bring in your work-in-progress to ask for help and opinions, or suggestions on useful gadgets or tools or any other help you might need. So, not "private", but advice is always available.
