Every year, we kick things off with a couple of fun 3-day retreats at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Wichita, KS—and I look forward to them all year long!
Whether it’s close to home or a little getaway for you, these 3 days (and 2–3 relaxing nights) are all about carving out time just for yourself—and your crafts.
It’s the perfect chance to step away from the everyday, settle into a creative rhythm, and enjoy uninterrupted stitching, laughter, and inspiration with fellow makers.

The Hyatt's beautiful Riverview Ballroom becomes our Sewing Room, opening at 8am on Saturday morning. Hotel check-in begins around 3pm, and while checkout on Monday is before noon, sewing continues until 4pm—so you can enjoy every last minute.
Retreat Cost
$445 per person (based on double occupancy with two queen beds)
Includes:
• 3 days of sewing
• 2 nights lodging
• 2 dinners, 1 lunch, and 1 brunch—all served right in our Sewing Room for convenience
You’ll also find Perk’s Coffee Shop and Harvest Restaurant & Bar right in the lobby—just steps from the elevators that take you up to your room.
Additional Options
• Come in Friday night (January 15 or February 19): +$150 per room (split if sharing)
• Upgrade to a single room: +$150
Examples:
• Single room + extra night: $745 total
• Sharing a room + Friday arrival: $520 per person
All pricing includes current Wichita hospitality and sales taxes (nearly 17%).
Payment Schedule
• $150 deposit to reserve your spot
• Second payment of $150 due approximately 30 days later
• Final balance due about 30 days after that
(Payment timing may vary slightly for registrations after September 15.)

While we may not have any “big name celebrities,” we do have plenty of amazing talent:
Charlotte and Cynthia from Needle In A Haystack (Severy, KS) will each be presenting us with fresh ideas, demos of favorite tools, and maybe even some brand-new gadgets—because who doesn’t love a new gadget?
Kirsten will be there too… and you never quite know what fun she’ll bring along!
The sewing room is open 24 hours a day, with great security—and yes, there’s free covered parking (a true gift in January or February)! Valet parking also available for an extra charge.

This is 2nd Saturday of the month TOMORROW!
-Doors open at 8:45am for the 9am class. Shopping doors open at 10am for the day and the second Class is at 11am. Don't forget to arrive before class with your finished blocks!
