Hi friend!
If you know me at all, you know I can never get enough fabric. Truly… there is no such thing as “too much”! And I love that designers are constantly looking both to the past and the present for inspiration—it shows up in such meaningful and beautiful ways.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about places.
When I was 10 years old, my family lived in St. Louis, Missouri. The Gateway Arch was just being finished, and schoolchildren were invited to write something to be placed in a time capsule at the very top. We were so excited to be part of something that felt so big and lasting.
In my teens, while living in Wisconsin, I dreamed of the Rockies—imagining skiing those sweeping mountains, with Glacier National Park holding a special place in my imagination.
In my 20s, visiting new in-laws in the Southwest, I saw the Saguaro cactus for the first time. Their quiet, majestic presence left a lasting impression on me.
And more recently, I visited Biscayne Bay National Park. I’ve always loved the waters around Florida, but learning the history there added a whole new layer of appreciation.
Even the Gateway Arch—now a National Park—tells a story of vision, movement, and the many people who helped shape this country. In its own way, it helped shape me, too… sparking a lifelong curiosity about the many regions of these United States.
That’s part of what I love so much about the National Park Poster fabric panels in the shop right now. Each one feels like a story—of a place, a memory, a moment in time. They’re beautiful on their own or paired with some of our softer Americana prints—nothing loud, just timeless reds, creams, blues, and quiet nods to tradition.
