Oh, happy July! I love July! 4th of July, then Lily's birthday and then my birthday! So much cake! Love it! ;)

This is the time of year we watch for the sweet corn stand to open on Main Street. How convenient!
I so appreciate the efforts made by everyone to provide our town with this service - starting with the Gaeddert Farms family, right on down to these kids who get up at the crack of dawn to haul the fresh picked corn onto the trailer and then on in to Newton and spend the whole day sitting in the un-airconditioned stand! What a summer job! Thank you!

I just finished my second version of Running Doe's KALEIDOSCOPE. Big Butterflies! This time I was inspired by RUBY STAR's rich, dark colors and the whimsical prints & "nearly solid" basics.
This project was made all the easier by using CUTTING CORNERS RULER from Cozy Quilt Designs.
I love a good, versatile ruler, and this is the best I've found for cutting corners. I see that there is another new one on the market, but I still think Cozy Quilt's is the best technique!
I just discovered ACORN PRECISION PIECING PRODUCTS. And I am excited! The Precision Piecing STARTER SET is my favorite NEW NOTION in a long time!
I started using it minutes after it arrived in the store this week and I am thrilled! The product and technique work to provide a super flat patchwork that goes together even better!
The "marker" style pen applies a line of Easy Press Solution to the seam line, so when you press, it stays SUPER FLAT!
When you need to really, really match seams, the Seam Align Glue does the job temporarily with nothing sticky to gum the needle.

I recently read an inverview that talked about the colors in the water around the Bahamas. For me, this quilt captures it!
