Hi all!
I'm winging my way to Florida today!
Eleanor will play hostess, showing Randy & me around Miami Beach. This should be fun!
Eleanor is the costumer for the Miami City Ballet, which, btw, has a really cool YouTube channel.
If you want to see some truly creative "pandemic thinking", click here to check out this recent video from MCB, a "duet" which was all done with painstakingly strict safety measures! Note the creative use of fabric!
The ballerina is dancing in Miami Beach, and he is dancing in NYC. Love the ending!
My sister Eleanor did the ballerina's costume, and also set up the costumes that are used as set decoration, in an empty retail space.
To enjoy ViVa, just a short little 4 minute dance, click here.
This all makes me think of this truly fun fabric, LOLA DUTCH. Based on the popular children's book series of the same name, maybe you've read them a time or two. ;)
I don't know if Eleanor will find a bear for us, but we'll probably see a bird and alligator along the way! LOL
This Saturday is the Newton Car Show. Bring your car fans along to Newton, and turn them loose on Main Street, while you enjoy fabric shopping!
Main Street will be closed to through traffic, so off the interestate follow Broadway west into our back alley parking lot. Or coming from the west park to the west of Main St, and walk across the street to us. Always a good time for all. Love the creativity that goes into these cars too! They all have stories and some have names.
Lovin' the OLD GUYS RULE fabrics. Just for fun, we've even put together a TRANSPORTATION category on the web. Click here to see what else has been added.
The weather is cooperating and flowers are popping up around here. LULU is a beautiful floral group.
You could start with a 1/2 yard of each of LULU and make a lovely quilt. Notice the new SPOTTED that is showing up from several Moda designers, a sort of new basic blender. Nice!
Try picking 3 of your favotie prints and do a 3-yard quilt from The Fabric Cafe. Click here to see her patterns and books. We carry them all here in the store. Some are on the web with more loading soon.
Mary pulled 3 fabrics from Primitive Gathering's newest, AMERICAN GATHERING, and Rita is quilting OLDE GLORY as I write this! Click here for fabric. Also available, KIT or even just the PATTERN.
Speaking of NEW, STORYBOOK AMERICANA has just been newly added to the SALE CATEGORY. Click here to see more of this line.
If you like PATRIOTIC and AMERICANA, we think you're going to get excited about our next SHOP HOP this fall. Save the dates! 10 days, 10 shops!
Be sure to tune in for Charlotte's Sew Natural Facebook LIVE SALE tomorrow afternoon, FRIDAY at 1 pm Central Time (in Kansas). I'll be checking in from Florida (it will be 2 pm Eastern Time) and hopefully this will work!
Even if my sister Eleanor and I can't join in from Florida, Kirsten will be LIVE with some TROPICAL DEALS for you and some other stuff too! Here's a "tease".
Be sure to login to Facebook, so you can comment (which is how you tell us what you want). Let Kirsten know if you need help setting up a Facebook account before it starts. She's on top of it!
Wishing you a great weekend. I'll report next week on all the sights, sounds and foods of South Florida! Stay tuned!
Hope to see you soon,
Charlotte
