The internet is such a vast world.  I like visiting other sites and have included a few web sites here that I have enjoyed, that are safe and friendly too!

Hope you have fun on the internet and will come back to
visit us often here at www.sewnatural.net !

Central Kansas Quilt Shop Hop has it's own web site now.  You can check for updates by going to:
www.centralkansasquiltshophop.4t.com
Bookmark it or add to your Favorites list to keep up-to-date!

Plan now for the October 2007
"Kansas Splendor"
Central Kansas Quilt Shop Hop!

Pattern Publishers - There are so many creative people out there designing and publishing patterns! I try to carry a great variety, but Eagle Pattern Depot carries lots that I don't have room for.
If you enter their site from here, they will give me a little credit.
(Hey, every "brownie point" counts!)  Go ahead, look around.  I order from them regularly, and if you see something you'd like and would rather order from us, just let us know the title and we'll get it to you asap.  Thanks!

Fabric Manufacturer's sites are always fun to browse.  I have lots of fabric in the store that is not on my web site, so if you see something on one of these sites that you want, please ask, as I very well may have it!

http://www.rjrfabrics.com/
Take a look at it in RJR's fabric gallery & then ask me which lines I currently have on hand and which are coming!

http://www.unitednotions.com/
Check out "In the stores now" category.  We carry lots of Moda Fabrics.

http://www.pbtex.com/
We especially like P&B's wide goods for backing quilts.

United Notions, Checker and EE Schenck are distributors of Notions & Books, whose sites are also interesting.
Again, we can order anything you see on one of their sites, just ask us!

Great Products' websites include:

QuiltSmart interfacing comes in many different styles (and we stock all of them!), but the newest Lone Star printed grid interfacing is my favorite.  Check out this site for a quick over-view of how the product works and pictures of wonderful quilts made easily and quickly, using this product!

The Iron Pal is a great new product!  With this simple addition to a standard ironing board, you can iron everything easier!
I was a "doubter", but now I'm a believer!
Designed with convenience in mind, the innovative patent pending Iron Pals™ Extension Arm simply attaches to most standard expanded metal ironing boards.

The Iron Pals web site is an absolute wealth of information on ironing techniques complete with pictures (I was amazed by what I didn't know!), tips on how to select an ironing board and iron, and more great links to more very informative sites.

Creative sites:

 http://www.womenfolk.com
An inspirational and interesting site by Judy Anne Johnson Breneman, I particularly enjoyed the articles about women's "creativity".

http://www.mccallsquilting.com/lessons/listing/
This page is the "entrance" to many different "lesson" pages.

http://www.hooplapatterns.com
I love these patterns!  I don't carry them in the store, but if you like historical quilts, this site may be just what you are looking for!  They feature a line of quilt patterns which are fully licensed by the Shelburne Museum, Old Sturbridge Village, and the Vermont Quilt Festival.

Some of my "friends in the neighborhood":

http://www.prairieharvestnewton.com
My "next door" neighbor, two doors north, Prairie Harvest is a specialty food store that concentrates on naturally produced and bulk foods. If you're looking for fresh food or hard-to-find products or trying to care for a special diet, you'll find what you need and more.

http://www.newtonyogacenter.com
Check out their class schedule for the Fall.  New location is at street level, just 1/2 block west of Main Street on 5th Street.
What Is Yoga? Yoga is a practice that teaches discipline of mind, body, and spirit. It consists of poses that stretch and strengthen muscles, increase circulation, and calm the mind. The teacher demonstrates correct alignment and guides students to modify the poses if a more difficult or an easier workout is desired. The use of breathing exercises and relaxation are two ways yoga is different from other exercise programs.

http://www.mokascoffee.com
Serving great, fresh coffee and food right across the street from me on the NW corner of Main St. and Broadway.  They actually roast the coffee right on the premises!  They also have computer stations and wireless computer connections.  So if you are traveling through Newton and need to check your email, this is the place!

http://www.infonewtonks.org
Web site of the Newton (Kansas) Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau

http://www.kscottonwoodquilts.com
About 35 miles west of me in Hutchinson Kansas.

http://www.prairiequilts.com
About 30 miles south of me in Wichita Kansas.

Other good sites to know about:

http://www.quiltingculture.com
Marilyn Klaus, an old friend and Charlotte's Sew Natural alum, together with Sharon Sawatzky are working on an interesting research project.  They hypothesize that fabric coverings are windows into the materials and technology of geographic regions or religious groups and a medium through which cultural meanings are communicated. Please check out this web site, especially if you have ever made and donated a quilt to a Mennonite auction, or if you have ever purchased a quilt at a Mennonite auction.  They are gathering data!  Be sure to check out "Kaleidoscope of Nations" http://www.quiltingculture.com/pages/ourproject/kaleidoscope.htm
This a great picture of the Kaleidoscope of Nations quilt which was the featured quilt for the 2003 Ontario Mennonite Relief Sale.
It sold on auction for $44,000 CDN.
